Often we hear statements such as “we are held together by our mutual brokenness.”  Does this imply that we are destroyed like the egg which cannot be mended, even with much help?

Perhaps we are using the term unadvisedly or in not appropriately. We might be referring to the scripture found in Psalm 51:17. “The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit; a broken and contrite heart – these O God, you will not despise.”

The above would imply broken-open or released rather than destroyed or rendered useless.  The only things over which we have control are the hardness of our heart and the stiffness of our neck.

These areas may have become hard and inflexible in order to try to protect ourselves from pain or the problems related to making a change.

Broken  Open – the hardness removed

Apart – from destructive behavior

Away – from harmful and self-protective thinking

Out –  of darkness into light or out of some prison

The purpose of such brokenness is to bring us to be

Released  From bondage an

Rejuvenated From death to life

To true Sonship

To ones natural and faith family

Restored  To Function

To Life

To Usefulness

To Share Life and the path to freedom and Redemption

Galatians 6:1 If anyone is caught in any transgression, you who are living and walking in the Spirit should restore him in a spirit of gentleness.  Keep watch lest you also may be tempted.
